Have you ever tried Coconut oil as makeup remover? Well, I’ve tried it for you!
I always enjoyed taking care of myself and playing with makeup. However, removing it always bothered me because it usually takes forever and because I often find my skin irritated afterwards. I have tried a couple of brands here and there that were good but I needed something better. So I tried Coconut oil!
What to buy?
Oh gosh, I had no clue what to buy or where. To be honest, I did not make any research on it. Like some of you, Ive seen some Instagram stories about it, but I’ve never really paid attention to the brands. All I knew was that I wanted to try pure Coconut oil with no added ingredients!
This is what happened:
Last month, while I was grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s I founded it! Yes, at the grocery store, it was all I wanted, pure coconut oil! Shelved between the olive oils and pasta! LOL
I have been using it everyday for a months now! Here is what I think.
What I love about it:
- It remove ALL my makeup in seconds! This is probably what I like the most about this experiment, it is so quick! Even waterproof mascara is gone instantly!
- It leaves my skin very smooth with no redness or irritations.
- It is much cheaper than most makeup removers.
- I can use it in the shower!
The down side:
- It is oil, so it takes some time to wash off.
- When I bought the oil it was compact, however because I like a hot shower I ended up with liquid oil. It is a big jar so it makes it a little difficult to grab the amount of product I need.
I will definitely finish the jar, yes I still have a LOT, it will probably last me for an other 2 months. I am not sure yet if this is what I want to use in the long run but I will seriously consider it because it is better for our planet and has been good for my skin 🙂
