Is 2020 summer vacation cancelled? No it is not and I am here to tell you why.

Wherever you are reading this from I am sure it’s a beautiful place. However I also know that you keep telling yourself that you need to go somewhere really far to get some new fresh air. So yes I am all about traveling, discovering new places, learning new cultures, meeting new people, eating new food…etc. But breaking news: 2020 happened. COVID-19 showed up so now you feel stuck at home all summer.

Now what if I tell you that this year you should staycation?

1. Well let’s face it, with most countries closed because of the pandemic, you can’t really go too far this year.
2. Taking a plane? Forget it. It’s not the safest thing to do right now
3. We are typically stuck in our own little bubble without really appreciating or enjoying where we stand. Somewhere around the globe there is a person who’s trip has been cancelled to you lovely state. They’re probably very envious of you because you live in it. 
4. Remember those school field trips as a child? Well, If your teachers found cool things to do in your area, trust me you can too.
5. Last but not least, the food and hospitality industry around you is clearly suffering during this pandemic.. and they need you! Yes you!

Staycations is something I really discovered while living in San Fransisco. You can drive for just about an hour and feel like you have landed in some new magical place! Wine country is STUNNING! Trust me I am French so I immediately recognize a beautiful vineyard. J In California there are also beautiful little towns alongside the ocean full of charm. How about those big mountains over looking the lakes? Breathtaking!

What I am really trying to tell you is to just STOP, take a second.. and look around you. There is so much you could discover and it’s right at your finger tips.

Have I convinced you to Staycation yet? Good! So take your car or rent one, and Drive! Ok, wait, do a little bit of planing first (or maybe not.. just be adventurous! Life is too short!).
